Background

The Write Move – Background:

Even before I started The Write Move, I worked with tertiary students in the fields of literature as well as literacy development. With an undergraduate degree in Media, Communication and Culture, as well as Honours and Masters degrees in English Literature, you can rest assured that I have a long love-affair with the English language!

I love working with language. I also love helping others to communicate – or to become better at their communication. I always aim to improve a piece of writing by creating a simpler, smoother, clearer version of the original.

A few comments from clients:

Why Ask A Professional?

Why ask a professional to write or check your communication or copy?

Many people like the idea of writing their own copy. They often feel that they know their own clients or customers, know their own business and know what they want to communicate.

However, there are a few reasons why it might be better for you to contact a professional – and to make sure that they know exactly what you would like to convey:

It is important to remember that you are writing for an audience. When your audience reads the copy on your website, brochure or advertisement, a specific impression is created.

You could ask yourself:

There are various other aspects to take in to consideration too. Does the copy flow from one point to the next, ensuring that the person reading it actually moves on to the next point with the text? Is it clear and to the point, not boring your reader with unnecessary details? Does it focus your reader’s attention to the points you would like him/her to focus on?

If you are going to spend the time and money to send communication to clients, make sure that you make the RIGHT impression.
